Representation of desi

I am a brown girl and I LOVE barbie, I am aware there are now desi/indian dolls but how come they aren't portrayed in the series? When I was younger, I used to think Teresa was south asian which she wasn't. There are some dolls like Raquelle and Renee that are asian and also got portrayed as a major character and as a character in the series. So if they are represented more, why aren't we?
