Story[]
Daisy comes to New York for the weekend. At Buddy's Cafe, Malibu, Brooklyn, Daisy and Rafa are glued to their phones. Brooklyn is obsessed with checking Handler Arts Academy's website to see what the spring musical will be, and Rafa books The Barbies a gig performing at the California Music & Food Festival. Rafa announces the gig to the girls, but they don't acknowledge it because they're looking at their phones. Epiphany greets everyone and also gets ignored. She gets their attention by pretending Buddy said they have run out of broffins. Epiphany says they are controlled by their phones. Malibu disagrees until she gets distracted by Skipper sending her a baby elephant video. Malibu realizes Epiphany is right and thinks they should spend time without their phones so they can connect more with each other. She says they can be Team No Screens. They agree to spend 24 hours without their phones and give their phones to Epiphany.
Stefan holds the door for everyone as they leave. They ignore him and go to Central Park to walk Gato. Daisy wants to see a movie, but she can't use her phone to look up showtimes and Malibu can't look up which train can take them to the movies. Brooklyn can't relax because she wants to find out what the spring musical will be. She is finding it hard to be in the city without phones, so Daisy suggests they go camping. Malibu and Rafa agree, but Rafa and Gato have to be convinced. At Buddy's Cafe, Buddy is angry because Rafa used the cafe's number as his office line. Buddy says someone phoned about the California Music & Food Festival and said Rafa has to phone back by 6pm or they will lose the gig. Epiphany looks sad. Stefan mimes asking why she is upset and she explains that she has to find Rafa and The Barbies before 6pm, but she can't call them because she has their phones. She wants to meditate but Stefan says he overheard Rafa saying he was taking Gato for a walk.
Malibu, Brooklyn and Daisy change into their camping clothes without telling Rafa. Rafa feels like he's wearing inappropriate clothes so he wants to go back to the city. The girls stop him and they go hiking. Back in the city, Epiphany and Stefan go to Central Park. Stefan mimes to a man, but the man doesn't understand. Stefan says he was asking if the man had seen Rafa and the Barbies. The man says they already left. Epiphany asks Stefan where he thinks everyone went after, and she understands when he mimes "the movies". He wonders why she's the only one that understands him, and she says it's because she "gets" him. While hiking, Brooklyn sees a phone and tries to use it while no one is around. It's a payphone so it doen't work. Rafa and Gato are exhausted from hiking and prefer walking in the park. At the movies, Stefan mimes and the ticket taker doesn't understand him. He shows the ticket taker a photo of Rafa and the Barbies and asks if she's seen their friends. She still doesn't understand and Stefan angrily mimes at her before leaving. Epiphany pretends he meant something nice.
Rafa fails to set up his tent correctly, so he needs help from the girls. Back at Buddy's Cafe, Epiphany and Stefan are tired after looking around New York for Rafa and The Barbies. Buddy received another call about the festival, which angered him because the line is for emergencies only. Epiphany remembers when Brooklyn worked for the cafe and gave her mother's number as an emergency contact. Epiphany phones Simone and finds out where Rafa and The Barbies are. Epiphany and Stefan rush to find them. Malibu, Daisy and Rafa have found it easy not to think about their phones, but Brooklyn is still thinking about the musical announcement. Rafa isn't used to camping so he dislikes collecting firewood and the insects. Brooklyn sees a jogger listening to music on his phone and tries to get his attention. Gato sees some squirrels stealing everyone's food so he chases them. Everyone chases Gato and the squirrels and gets the food back. Brooklyn sees a woman on her phone and asks to borrow it, but the woman says there's no reception. She allows Brooklyn to go around trying to find a signal.
Brooklyn climbs a tree and starts to get a signal. Epiphany and Stefan hear Brooklyn cheer and follow the sound. Brooklyn falls to the ground when the branch she is sitting on snaps. Malibu, Daisy and Rafa find her and see her using a phone and laugh after she explains what happened. Before Brooklyn can return the phone, Epiphany and Stefan find everyone. Epiphany tells Rafa he has to confirm the festival spot before 6pm or they'll lose the spot. Epiphany gives Rafa his phone but there's no signal on the ground, and Brooklyn broke the lowest tree branch. Stefan mimes that they should make a human tower. Rafa stands at the top of the tower and manages to climb onto a tree branch and gets a signal. He books the gig with 30 seconds to spare. Daisy remarks on what a good team they are as they head back to camp, forgetting Rafa is still in the tree.
When everyone goes back to camp, Brooklyn is still thinking about the musical. Epiphany says she and Stefan overheard some students talking about it at Buddy's Cafe. Stefan mimes the name of the musical and Epiphany interprets it. Brooklyn finds out the musical is Dance: The Tale of the Dancer Who Dances. She loves the opening song, which is a modern mix of hip-hop, Broadway and classical music at the same time. She wants to play the song but can't because she doesn't have her phone. Rafa tries to eat, but a fly lands on his food. Rafa and Gato run away and Rafa says they're taking a cab home.
