Australia is close to Aquellia, an underwater city located deep in the waters of New Zealand. Merliah told her mother, Queen Calissa, about an upcoming surf competition in Australia that she would be competing in. The Sydney coast is seen later, toward the end of the film, when Kylie and Merliah actually participate to the competition.
