Skipper Roberts is a character in Barbie & Her Sisters in A Puppy Chase. She is voiced by Kazumi Evans. Skipper and her sisters go to an island with their puppies so that Chelsea can take part in a dance competition. When the sisters get separated from the puppies, the girls set out to find them.
Story[]
Skipper and her sisters Barbie, Stacie and Chelsea fly to an island so that Chelsea can compete in a dance competition. On the plane, Barbie asks Skipper if she's excited, but Skipper feels sick because of the flight. The girls are accompanied by their puppies, and Skipper's puppy DJ is also feeling sick.
When Skipper gets off the plane, she is greeted by an island hostess. The hostess gives Skipper a lei, and Skipper is so relieved to have landed that she hugs the hostess. The hostess laughs, and Skipper takes a selfie. After the hostess gives the puppies flowers to put on their ears, Skipper takes a photo of them. Skipper wants to go to the hottel so she can update her blog, but first Barbie wants to surprise her sisters.
After Skipper shows a lack of enthusiasm for Barbie's surprise, Barbie rents a golf cart for them to travel with. Skipper has to sit facing backwards. She tries to use her phone to look up coordinates to Banyan Tree Park, but there is no reception. Then she tries to look at a physical map, but her vision gets blurry. Skipper still feels sick from the flight. The winding road makes her feel sicker. The wind blows the map away, and Skipper says she should've kept a map on her phone.
The girls find Banyan Tree Park and let the puppies out to play. While Skipper and her sisters watch the Dancing Horse Festival, the puppies go into the horse trailer. Skipper takes a photo while a horse named Spirit dances with her rider, Marco. After the performance, Stacie asks Marco if he recommends any fun beaches, and he says White Sands Campground. Marco says he and his sister, Vivian, will be camping there with their animals.
Marco and Vivian leave with the puppies still in their trailer. Skipper and her sisters try to pursue them in the golf cart, but it gets stuck in the banyan tree arch. Skipper says she still has no reception, and Barbie says they can hike to White Sands Campground the following day to find their puppies. The girls camp by the banyan tree and the only food Skipper has is a sandwich that she was too sick to eat on the plane. Stacie gives them energy bars.
Skipper and her sisters play the What If Game and the Imagination Game, where they imagine different scenarios. Skipper imagines a camper with a bathroom, toilet paper and running water. They go to sleep, but Skipper wakes up when it starts to rain. They sleep in the golf cart instead. In the morning, Skipper still has no reception. Skipper and her sisters find a road, but it is washed out. Barbie says they can hike a mountain instead.
Skipper is reluctant to climb the mountain and has trouble doing it, but her sisters encourage her. When Barbie slips while climbing, Skipper and her younger sisters help Barbie up. Stacie offers them more energy bars, and Skipper hopes that the puppies have eaten. The girls get to a cliff and decide to zip-line down. Skipper feels frustrated by how their stay on the island has been so far, comparing it to torture, and she goes last across the zip-line. She loses her momentum, and it stops, but she swings her legs and manages to make it across.
Skipper and her sisters find a village, and Skipper hopes she can sit down and charge her phone. A woman named Anna lets the girls rent a camper like the one from their What If Game, and Skipper says she could hug her. Skipper is pleased that the camper has a bathroom, and Barbie starts to drive them to White Sands Campground. Skipper tries to sleep in the camper, but Barbie gets lost while driving and gets a flat tire.
The camper runs out of gas near White Sands Campground, where Skipper and Stacie search for Vivian and Marco. Skipper gasps as she sees their puppies, and the girls and puppies are reunited. Skipper takes a selfie with DJ. Chelsea tells Vivian and Marco that they have no way to get to her competition, so Vivian says they will drive the girls there in the trailer. Skipper cheers but feels sick while they drive on another winding road. They come to another washed-out road, so Marco says they can use the horses to get across the gap instead of driving a longer route.
Skipper and Stacie get on Silver. Skipper gets scared, but they jump over the gap. The horses take the girls to the competition, and Vivian and Marco say they will meet them at the competition. Barbie accidentally leads the girls back to Banyan Tree Park, and Skipper asks what Barbie's plan is. Barbie says she doesn't know. Skipper asks Barbie where her usual optimism is. Barbie apologizes to Skipper and their sisters for not just going to the hotel the day before. Barbie says she was just as worried as her sisters while they searched for the puppies, but she hid it. Skipper and her sisters tell Barbie that she can let them know when she's scared or worried. Skipper comforts Barbie and tells her it was fun on the island, apart from when she was sick.
Barbie figures out how to get to the competition, and they get there in time for Chelsea to perform. DJ runs on stage during the performance, so Skipper goes to stop him. While she is on stage, she is unsure what to do, but Stacie tells her to dance. As Chelsea performs, all of her sisters join her and their puppies and Vivian and Marco's animals. Chelsea wins the competition and thanks Skipper and everyone else who helped her. Chelsea's performance music is turned back on, and Skipper dances with everyone.
Physical Appearance[]
Skipper is a teenage girl with light skin, blue eyes, and long brown and blue hair. She wears a magenta t-shirt that says "PARADISE" on it, with distressed denim shorts that have a red heart and a pineapple on them. Her shoes are black and white high-top sneakers, and she wears nail polish and a silver bracelet. When Skipper arrives on the island, she is given a blue and purple lei. While zip-lining, she wears a light blue and purple helmet with green leaves printed on it, and she wears a black helmet while horse-riding. Skipper has her hair in a low ponytail when she wears a helmet.
Personality[]
Skipper is sarcastic, and she is often unimpressed by Stacie's jokes. She likes taking photos and updating her blog. Skipper gets motion sickness and says it was "torture" to be on the plane, golf cart, and do zip-lining. She is quite timid and gets scared while climbing a cliff, while zip-lining, and while horse-riding. Skipper finds it hard to keep up with Stacie, who is sporty and energetic.
