Story[]
Barbie enters a competition to design a robot for the All-State Robotics Convention (Robot Con), the most important robotics convention in the USA. She gets through to the finals, but it will take place the same weekend as her parents' 20th anniversary. Barbie has already baked a tiered cake as a surprise and she planned on throwing a party, even though Margaret didn't want "anything crazy". Skipper offers to plan the party instead of Barbie, and Margaret tells Barbie to go to Robot Con.
Barbie puts the cake in a box to protect it. She offers to stay and plan the party, but Skipper says she can handle it. Barbie's family sees her off and she goes to Robot Con. Whittaker and Poppy Reardon make an uninvited appearance at the party. They complain about the loud music at the Dreamhouse. Skipper says she made the playlist herself, and she can also make playlists for birthdays and Bar Mitzvahs if the Reardons want a card. She offers them food, so they agree to stay for five minutes out of politeness.
Skipper takes a selfie with Barbie's cake. She posts the photo online and then accidentally ruins the cake by falling on it. Skipper, Stacie and Chelsea work together to get a new cake before anyone finds out what happened. They leave a cake box on the table so it looks like there's still a cake. Chelsea distracts Margaret by dancing with her. Stacie says they should call Barbie for help, but Skipper says Barbie will be too busy. At Robot Con, Barbie is having trouble with her robot. Stacie phones Barbie, so Skipper lies that everything is fine. Skipper pretends that Stacie was only calling to tell Barbie she left some of her robotics kit at home.
Skipper plans on making a new cake in their camper's kitchen, then smuggling it into the kitchen. Stacie is angry that Skipper lied to Barbie, so she refuses to help. Skipper makes a new cake by herself. Stacie apologizes for not helping. Stacie and Chelsea are shocked by Skipper's cake, which is wonky and has sloppy icing. The cake deflates like a soufflé. Skipper gives up and calls Barbie to confess that she ruined Barbie's cake. Skipper is upset that she's not "perfect" like Barbie, but her sisters comfort her and praise Skipper's intelligence, humor and her knowledge of technology.
Barbie tells Skipper she is having trouble with her robot. Skipper says it's a simple reprogram and she can tell Barbie how to do it. Barbie and Skipper link the Dreamhouse's wireless interface to Barbie's robotics kit that she left at home. They use the video chat on their phone so Barbie can help them bake a new cake in the camper's kitchen. Chelsea finds Whittaker and Poppy trying to look in the cake box in the Dreamhouse kitchen. Chelsea tries to distract the Reardons by showing them her slap bracelet collections, so they hide in the Dreamhouse elevator to avoid her.
Barbie puts on some gloves that connect wirelessly to robot arms in the camper. She uses the robot arms to bake a new cake. Skipper and Stacie smuggle the cake into the Dreamhouse kitchen while Chelsea distracts George. She pretends that the puppies took her vintage scrunchies. She makes all the party-goers chase the puppies until the cake is in place. When the cake is ready, the girls present it to their parents. The Reardons leave while everyone is looking at the cake. Barbie wishes her parents a happy anniversary over video chat.
