Pre-It Takes Two[]
The percussionist previously appeared in Barbie: Big City, Big Dreams. The percussionist is a student at Handler Arts Academy. When Brooklyn fell off the stage in Big City Big Dreams she broke his drum. Near the end of the movie, it is shown that she and Barbie bought him a new drum.
It Takes Two[]
In "Cupid Shuffle", Malibu and Brooklyn join Handler's Spring Dance planning committee. They write love letters on behalf of students to help them express their feelings and hopefully get them to buy tickets to the dance. They accidentally give the letters to the wrong people, so they have to go around swapping them to the right recipients. While the percussionist is sitting with a student who received a letter, Malibu distracts them while Brooklyn swaps the letter with the right one.
