Story[]
Barbie and her sisters have their traditional "Puppy Wig Day", where they put their puppies on their heads as wigs. Stacie reveals that she applied for Barbie to compete in an extreme baking show called Bake 'Til You Ache. With encouragement from her sisters, Barbie agrees to do it. Barbie will compete against Tammy Bounceway. Tammy is an athletic, rising social media lifestyle influencer who tripled the ratings in a week. Greg, the producer of the show, loves the increased ratings and he tells Tammy that she will be competing against Barbie.
Skipper, Stacie and Ken help Barbie to prepare for the show. While preparing, a spider crawls near Barbie. She explains that she was with George while he was shooting a documentary in South America when she was 8. She saw a spider and ever since then she has had arachnophobia. Greg and Tammy use a drone to spy on Barbie and see that she is scared of spiders. Tammy wants to win so she can "break the internet", and knows she can guarantee winning if she cheats. Greg agrees to help her cheat.
Skipper, Stacie, Chelsea, Margaret, George and Ken watch Barbie from the audience. Barbie introduces herself to Tammy, who rejects a handshake. Johnny Bee hosts Bake 'til You Ache. He introduces Tammy and Barbie, but he gets Barbie's name wrong and calls her Darbie Boberts. Everyone cheers for Tammy but only Barbie's family and Ken clap for Barbie. Margaret calculates Barbie's odds of winning by using an algorithm. George says Barbie will be fine because he brought their lucky Wisconsin cheese bunny.
Johnny announces that, as the challenger, Barbie is allowed to have a side-line coach, so that is Stacie. Barbie and Tammy compete in extreme athletic challenges while collecting cupcake ingredients. Barbie notices that the games are easier for Tammy. Greg uses an earpiece to give Tammy advice to help her cheat. Johnny Bee commentates the competition rounds. Stacie gives Barbie advice during round 1, and Skipper gives Barbie advice during round 2. During round 3, Tammy gets annoyed at Greg because Barbie is succeeding even though her games are harder.
Greg's earpiece accidentally connects to Stacie's when Greg says he will not let Barbie win. Stacie tells Barbie that they're cheating. Skipper tells Barbie to quit. It reminds Barbie of a time she almost quit something when she was a kid. She was supposed to play a new song on the piano but it was too hard for her. Grandma Roberts told her, "The only sure way to fail, is to not try at all." It taught Barbie that even if something seems impossible, you should do it anyway because if you quit, you'll never know what might have been.
It makes Barbie determined to win even though the show is rigged against her. During the final round, Barbie and Tammy have to bake cupcakes and compete in tug-of-war. Greg uses a fake spider to scare Barbie. Tammy tells Barbie she should've quit earlier, so Barbie ignores the spider and becomes even more intent on winning. Barbie beats Tammy in tug-of-war and finishes icing her cupcakes.
Johnny Bee tries one of Barbie's cupcakes and declares her the winner. Everyone cheers for Barbie. Ken and the Roberts family try Barbie's cupcakes, and Greg asks if Barbie will compete again. Barbie declines, so Greg tries to change her mind by saying the audience loves her more than Tammy now. Chelsea says that isn't real love, and Skipper says there's more to life than winning. Tammy smacks one of Barbie's cupcakes into Greg's face.
