The Muses' instruments are objects in Barbie & The Diamond Castle owned by the Muses of Music. The instruments are powerful magical artifacts.
Instruments[]
The three Muses of Music each owned an instrument through which they played music and cast their magic:
- Dori's instrument: a pink-white lyre edged in gold.
- Phaedra's instrument: a light purple guitar inlaid with purple-pink diamonds.
- Lydia's instrument: initially a straight silver-white double flute, it turned red, black, and twisted like a serpent after Lydia turned it into an instrument of powerful evil magic, but it reverted back to its original form after Lydia's defeat.
Abilities[]
As shown in the film, each and every single instrument possessed incredible magical powers that are channeled by playing them, such as:
- Music Magic: The Muses or others who wielded the instruments had the ability to cast magic and perform otherwise-impossible feats through manipulating (playing) music. Examples of other abilities they could access through this power are:
- Force-Field Generation: By playing Dori's lyre and Phaedra's guitar and singing together, Liana, Alexa, and Melody were able to utilise the ability to project a field of manipulated energy, and the forcefield they generated not only expanded as they played and sang, but also deflected all of Lydia's evil music magic right back at her, ultimately turning her into stone.
- Magic Negation: Liana, Alexa, and Melody were also able to utilise the ability to nullify the magical powers of others - as they continued to play and sing even after Lydia's defeat, all of Lydia's other spells were broken.
