The Mermaid Moon ceremony is an event in Barbie: Mermaid Power. The ceremony takes place every hundred years and must be performed by a Power Keeper with moonlight shining directly down on Pacifica. It acts as a safety method to protect the kingdom of Pacifica.
Story[]
During the Mermaid Moon ceremony, the Power Keeper lifts Golden Pearl up to the sky and the full moon would react and send down streams of lunar light on the ocean.
Because they didn't have a Power Keeper yet, Coralia arranged to have a competition on the day of the Mermaid Moon in the hopes of finding the Power Keeper. Among the contestants were Malibu, her best friend Brooklyn, mermaids named Talleigha Fishtail and Sareena Seasquid, and a merman named Finn Aquavilla as well as three unnamed merfolk.
After finding the true Power Keeper and dispatching a man-made island of garbage dumped into the ocean, everyone bursts into song and Aquaryah starts the ceremony with Barbie lifting her and the pearl up to the air where Aquaryah makes the moon shine on Pacifica.
