Ken Carson is a character in Barbie: Princess Adventure. He is voiced by Ritesh Rajan. Ken is a high school student who lives in Malibu. Princess Amelia invites Barbie, Ken and their friends to go on a free field trip to Floravia.
Story[]
Ken is a student at Golden Beach High in Malibu, and he attends the school with his friend Barbie. Barbie's vlog draws the attention of Amelia, a princess in a foreign country. Ken congratulates Barbie on her new vlog post. Amelia invites Barbie, Ken and the rest of their friends to Floravia as part of a Malibu-Floravia Cultural Exchange. Ken and the other students are accompanied by Principal Miller.
Barbie's family and puppies see Ken and the others off at the airport. Barbie's dog Taffy sneaks into her bag, and they board the plane. Ken looks forward to sitting next to Barbie on the flight, but Renee is uncomfortable in closed spaces. Ken lets Renee have his window seat, and sits next to Trey instead. Ken says he wants to tell Barbie how he feels about her before the trip is over.
Ken and the others arrive in Floravia, and he hopes he can spend time with Barbie now that they are somewhere new. and are taken to the palace in a limo. Barbie discovers that Taffy is in her bag. As they approach the palace, they see paparazzi. Ken says Amelia must be tired of being hounded for photos all the time. He finds out he is staying at the palace for their trip. They get to the palace, and Alfonso says he will escort Ken and the others to their rooms. Taffy runs away, and Barbie chases her to Amelia's secret hangout room.
Amelia tells Barbie that she invited Barbie, Ken and their other friends because she wanted to meet Barbie. Amelia noticed they looked alike, and she wanted to swap places with Barbie for a week before she is crowned queen, so she could experience a normal life. Barbie agrees, and Ken sees Amelia leave the palace in casual clothes. Ken is confused, but before he can tell anyone, Ned and Ted take Ken with them to the Thistleberry Museum.
Barbie goes to a pre-coronation party and meets Prince Johan, whose country is surrendering to Floravia. Back at the palace, Barbie tells Ken that she is pretending to be Amelia and vice versa. Ken says he will support her. Later, Ken and his friends go shopping without Barbie while she attends coronation practice with Johan. Ken and his friends explore, and he later tells Barbie he wishes she could've been there too. Meanwhile, Amelia gets kidnapped by Prince Johan's staff, as he plans on sabotaging her coronation so he can be crowned king of Floravia.
Ken tries to talk to Barbie how he feels about her, but their friends pull Barbie away to a slumber party before he can say anything. During the slumber party, Barbie realises that Amelia is in trouble. Ken tells Barbie to be careful and he helps her with a plan to find Amelia. Ken sees Amelia's royal adviser in trouble, so he tries to phone Barbie, but she has also been kidnapped. Ken watches as Johan at the coronation. Johan says if Amelia misses the coronation, then he will become king of Floravia instead. Ken gets Taffy to knock the crown out of Johan's hands.
Barbie and Amelia were able to escape and get to the coronation in time. Johan is arrested and Barbie sits next to Ken. Ken compliments Barbie and tries to tell her how he feels, but he is interrupted by Amelia's coronation starting. Amelia is crowned queen, and Barbie says Ken was quick-thinking by working with Taffy to stop Johan. Before Ken can tell Barbie his feelings, he gets interrupted again, this time by Amelia. Amelia says Barbie is an inspiration, and Ken agrees. He tells Barbie he can't hold back anymore, but instead of telling her his feelings, he asks her to dance. They dance together and celebrate with everyone at the coronation.
Physical Appearance[]
Ken is a teenage boy with short blond hair, blue eyes and light skin. At school and on the way to Floravia, Ken wears a light grey and bright blue two-tone t-shirt. He wears this with dark gray pants and blue sneakers. When Ken is in Floravia, he wears a v-neck white T-shirt with a white and blue hoodie, dark gray pants, and sneakers.
He briefly wears a helmet that looks like a thistleberry after he visits the Thistleberry Museum. At the coronation, Ken wears a silver crown, and a light blue jacket adorned with medals and an epaulet on one shoulder. He wears gray jeans, and navy and gray sneakers with stars on them.
Personality[]
Ken is kind and helpful. He is a supportive friend to Barbie, often helping and complimenting her. He is selfless and lets Renee have his window seat next to Barbie on the plane to Floravia, even though he really wanted to sit next to Barbie.
