Story[]
The Inter-Academy Formal Dance takes place on the evening of the opening day of the Inter-Academy Equestrian Tournament. For the 108th tournament, Alpine Academy are hosting. Alpine's owner, Marlene, lets her twin children Marie and Max decide the theme for the dance. Max wants to do a "Alpine Primroses in Springtime" theme, but Marie wants to do a "Robot Samurai" theme. They bicker about their clashing ideas.
Marie suggests that everybody rest before the dance. The twins' cousins Barbie, Skipper, Stacie and Chelsea get ready for the dance and give Marie a makeover. At the dance, Marlene serves punch while Marie and Max greet people at the door. Alpine's riding master, Etienne Cheynet, is surprised to see samurai armor on a wall. Barbie dances with Marie and Chelsea, while Stacie dances with Max. Skipper dances with Jonas, a boy from a rival riding academy. Philippe Cheynet of Ecole Montagne sabotages Alpine by unlocking a horse corral.
When Chelsea is left alone, she goes outside and tries to ride a big horse in the corral. The horse panics and starts kicking. Chelsea screams, so people go outside to see what is happening. The horses escape from the corral and Chelsea falls off the horse but she is okay. Barbie, Skipper and Jonas leave the dance to track down the horses. They find them and bring them back to Alpine.
