The Golden Pearl is a large magical object in Barbie: Mermaid Power. It is kept by the merfolk in Pacifica.
Story[]
The Golden Pearl chooses eight mermaids to compete to become the Power Keeper by shining a stream of light on one merperson's chest. The pearl chooses six candidates, among them are Finn Aquavilla, Talleigha Fishtail and Sareena Seasquid, but the last two candidates are missing, prompting Isla to believe them to be Malibu and later her friend Brooklyn. At the end of the movie, Aquaryah performs the ceremony of Mermaid Moon using the golden pearl to shine light upon the kingdom.
Controversy[]
Even though Aquaryah Aquavilla, the true Power Keeper, was present, the pearl did not shine on her. When Isla realized there were two candidates missing, she went to ask Malibu to join the competition, somehow knowing she was supposed to be part of the contest, and they are immediately joined by Brooklyn, Barbie's friend whose name is also Barbie Roberts.
