[Barbie is sliding down a pile of garbage while standing on a garbage can lid and holding an alarm clock.]
Barbie: (narrating) I bet you're wondering why I'm shredding through trash.
[Barbie pauses the screen and it switches to Barbie in her bedroom, recapping the events.]
Barbie: Was it just another boring Monday and I really had nothing better to do? Actually, it was Chelsea's birthday, and there was a very good reason why I was surfing down a mountain of garbage... but how I got there? Now that's a story.
[Barbie rewinds to a delivery man ringing the Dreamhouse doorbell.]
Barbie: (narrating) The day started out 100% wonderful.
Stacie: Doorbell! (turns stairs into a slide and surfs down) Yeah! (answers door) Thank you.
[Stacie takes a box from the delivery man. She shakes it to try and guess what's inside. It cuts to Skipper using the DJ booth in her bedroom while Barbie dances. Skipper stops playing music.]
Barbie: Dude, that was amazing.
[Skipper laughs. Stacie runs into the room with DJ, Rookie, and Taffy]
Stacie: Woohoo. Special delivery!
Barbie: Oh, is it Chelsea's present?
Skipper: Oh, let me see.
Barbie: That's cutting it close! I was afraid it wasn't gonna get here in time.
[The puppies watch the girls with the box.]
Stacie: Cupcake pool float! We are geniuses. Oh, i can't wait to see it!
Skipper: Open it! She is so going to love this.
Stacie: (takes present out of box) Ta-da! (sees it's just a cupcake balloon) Eh?!
Barbie: Um, we just have to blow it up, right?
Stacie: No, it's the totally wrong thing!
[Barbie switches to her recapping events.]
Barbie: Okay, so suddenly, we were in less than wonderful territory (shows emoji face chart with an arrow pointing to a smiley face at the top) More like... (arrow drops to a neutral face)
[Barbie switches to back to her seeing the wrong present. The puppies play with the box and foam pellets.]
Stacie: This is a complete disaster!
Barbie: I can't even tell what it is.
Skipper: A pool float... for a squirrel. (dogs get excited) Oh, no squirrel, guys. False alarm.
[The dogs get disappointed. Taffy grabs the balloon and plays with it. Chelsea comes into the room on a toy train with Honey.]
Chelsea: Chugga-chugga, chugga-chugga, chugga-chugga, choo-choo! Where have you guys been?
Barbie: Out!
Skipper: So busy!
Stacie: Uh, nothing to do with your birthday, that's for sure.
Chelsea: Right, 'cause you've been planning for months. Anyway, I was talking to the pups. All aboard! We're late for puppy story-time in the clubhouse! (puppies board the train and Chelsea sees the cupcake balloon) What's that? It looks like someone let all the air out of a cupcake. (laughs and drives out of the room) Can't wait to see what you got me for my birthday. Bye! Choo-choo!
Stacie: What are we going to do? We've gone from the best present in the world to the smallest, flattest' present in the world.
Barbie: You're right; this isn't good, but together, we can think of an even better gift. I know we can.
Stacie: We have no time, no ideas, and a little sister who's about to have her birthday completely ruined!
Skipper: Well, maybe just, you know, mostly ruined?
Barbie: Come on, we can do this! Think. A gift for Chelsea...
Stacie: A basketball hoop. A computer. A DJ booth!
Skipper: You're just naming things in this room.
Stacie: I panicked.
Barbie: Come on. What does Chelsea like?
Skipper: Putting itching powder in your socks?
Barbie: How about some of her more endearing interests?
Stacie: She spends a lot of time playing in her clubhouse... hey, what about a clubhouse makeover?
Barbie: That's it! I mean, we're living in a new Dreamhouse, shouldn't Chelsea have a clubhouse to match?
Skipper: Brilliant!
Stacie: Yeah!
[Barbie switches to her recapping events.]
Barbie: The day was right back up to 80% wonderful! (emoji face chart arrow goes up up to a happy face) We just needed one thing to get it back up to a 100. Actually, two things: Nikki and Teresa.
[Barbie switches back to her in Skipper and Stacie's room. She phones her friends.]
Nikki: Hey, Barbie!
Teresa: What's up?
Barbie: Birthday emergency!
Nikki: On it!
Teresa: Be right there.
[It transitions to Barbie, Skipper, Stacie, Nikki and Teresa looking at the clubhouse.]
Nikki: Well, first of all, it needs a serious cleaning.
Teresa: Can't do that here. Pretty much anything except water will kill the grass.
Barbie: Okay, let's get it out front. We can hose it down there before Chelsea gets back from her mall run with Mom and Dad.
[Everyone lifts the clubhouse.]
Teresa: Definitely underestimated how heavy this was.
[Chelsea returns with Margaret and George.]
Margaret: Hi, Nikki! Hi, Teresa!
[Nikki screams.]
Teresa: She means, "Hi."
Barbie: Oh, hey! Back so soon?
Margaret: Haven't left yet. Don't worry, we'll get out of your hair for whatever you're doing.
George: Ooh, super secret project time.
Barbie: No!
Teresa: Definitely not.
Chelsea: What are you guys doing with my clubhouse?
Skipper: It's... not your clubhouse.
Chelsea: It sure looks like it.
Stacie: It's... Nikki's earring.
Chelsea: That's really gonna stretch your lobe.
Stacie: No, I mean she dropped her earring.
Teresa: And we looked everywhere else.
Barbie: So, we thought if it isn't anywhere else, it must be...
Nikki: Under the clubhouse! And it sure was!
Barbie: Major phew, right?
Chelsea: So if you found the earring, why are you still holding my clubhouse?
Stacie: Uh, we were just so excited to find the earring, we...
Skipper: Forgot to put it down.
Teresa: Ha, silly us.
[They put down the clubhouse.]
Barbie: Thanks for reminding us, Chelsea.
George: That had everything! Mystery, drama, even a little suspense. Bravo!
Margaret: Yes, very entertaining, but now it's time to entertain someone else.
Chelsea: (makes siren noises) Dad said I could make siren sounds out of the car window all the way to the mall!
Margaret: Thanks, George.
[Chelsea, Margaret and George leave.]
Barbie: Bye! (everyone falls down in relief) That was close.
Stacie: I think she bought that.
Skipper: Never again. Never again.
[It transitions to after they bring the clubhouse out front.]
Barbie: Okay, we don't have a lot of time. Here's the plan: After we hose this thing down, we'll get it back inside and get to work. Nikki's already got some great ideas, Teresa will help with technical specs... take it away, Nikki.
Nikki: Okay, so I came up with some themes. (Teresa shows themes on a tablet) There's a pirate ship...
Barbie, Skipper and Stacie: Oh!
Nikki: Choo-choo station...
Barbie, Skipper and Stacie: Ooh!
Skipper: Love that.
Nikki: Or, since we all know how much Chelsea loves cupcakes...
Stacie: No, too soon.
Skipper: Yeah, way too soon.
Nikki: Oop! Yeah, sorry.
Barbie: They're great ideas, Nikki, seriously, but... we need something different, something that really feels like Chelsea.
Stacie: Actually, I have an idea.
Nikki: Cool, fire away.
Stacie: (using tablet with Nikki) Alright, if you bring this up over here... oh, and then I'm gonna add this down here... see what I'm doing?
Nikki: Uh-huh. Oh yeah... and maybe something like this over here?
Stacie: Yes, that's it! You're a mind-reader. (shows design to everyone)
Barbie: Love it.
Skipper: It's perfect!
Teresa: Sweet!
Barbie: Great, so Nikki, Teresa and I will clean and prep the clubhouse. Stacie and Skipper, I need you two on Chelsea patrol when she gets back. Can you go plan some time-consuming distractions for her?
Stacie: Aye aye. Operation Surprise Chelsea is a go!
Barbie: Ken's got a ton of cool stuff from all of his beach combing. Let's go see what we can decorate with before we clean the clubhouse.
Nikki: Great idea. Let's go.
[It cuts to Ken, Barbie, Teresa and Nikki carrying buckets of things Ken found at the beach.]
Ken: Making over Chelsea's clubhouse is an awesome birthday present.
[Barbie laughs. They hear a truck and see the clubhouse is attached to it.]
Nikki: What?
Teresa: Oh, no!
Barbie: (gasps) Someone's taking the clubhouse!
[They run after the car.]
Nikki / Teresa: Stop! Wait!
Barbie: (narrating) We watched helplessly as our wonderful % plummeted before our eyes. (the emoji chart arrow goes down) 50... 45... 30... 7...
[An animation shows the sun going over the Dreamhouse. Barbie, Ken, Nikki and Teresa have gone back to the Dreamhouse.]
Barbie: Ugh, I can't believe that just happened.
Teresa: They must have thought we were throwing it away.
Nikki: Just because it was by the curb, on its side, and looked like trash?
[Skipper and Stacie come outside.]
Skipper: Hey, where's the clubhouse?
Stacie: Can we see it?
Teresa: That depends. How fast can you run?
Stacie: What?
Skipper: What do you mean?
Ken: A truck just drove off with it.
Barbie: Don't worry, we're gonna figure this out.
Margaret: Hey, guys, we're back!
[Barbie and the others greet Margaret, George and Chelsea.]
George: Operation Cupcakes and Ice Cream was a success.
Margaret: We've got enough to last us until Chelsea's next birthday.
Chelsea: I told you, I don't mess around. Wait a minute, what's with the buckets?
Ken: It's... your birthday... and it's a present for you. I thought we could make 'em into one of those... sea shell bunnies.
Chelsea: Awesome! It can be friends with our cheese rabbit. (heads indoors with Ken) Come on, I'll pick out my favorites.
[Ken glances back at Barbie, who laughs.]
Barbie: Okay. Stacie and Skipper, better go help Ken. He's really gonna need it.
Teresa: Does anyone even know what a sea shell bunny is?
Stacie: We'll help them figure it out.
Barbie: Let's go hunt down a clubhouse. I'll drive.
[It transitions to Barbie, Nikki and Teresa next to Barbie's car.]
Barbie: Here we go. (gets in car)
Teresa: Woohoo! (gets in car)
Nikki: (sees there's only two seats in car) Uh...
Barbie: Oh, right. (presses button and backseats appear)
Nikki: Whoa!
Teresa: Get in!
[Nikki gets in the car.]
Barbie: We're going to get the clubhouse, we're going to make over the clubhouse, and we're going to give Chelsea the best birthday gift ever!
Teresa: But... what if we don't?
Barbie: Then we just keep driving.
[Barbie starts driving through the city and Nikki sees the clubhouse.]
Nikki: There it is, up ahead!
[Barbie follows the truck. The truck starts to turn and Teresa sees a logo on the side.]
Teresa: On the truck, Ben's Junk-It!
Barbie: (stops at red light) Oh, no!
Teresa: (using phone) I'll look up where the truck is going. (to phone) Look up Ben's Junk-It.
Teresa's Phone: Finding you: Ben's jacket.
Barbie: What?
Teresa: No! (to phone) Ben's Junk-et.
Teresa's Phone: Finding you: Ben's monkey-monkey.
Teresa: No, that's not what I want.
Nikki: But "Ben's monkey-monkey" sounds amazing. Maybe we can stop by later?
[The traffic light turns green.]
Nikki and Teresa: Go, Barbie!
[Barbie in the direction of the truck.]
