Bertie is a minor character in Barbie as The Princess and the Pauper. Bertie is voiced by Kathleen Barr. At the end of the movie, she lives in the kingdom ruled by Queen Genevieve, and she previously worked as a seamstress in Madame Carp's Dress Emporium.
Story[]
Bertie is poor and was treated badly by Madame Carp until the dress emporium was shut down. Bertie is friendly to people, and admires Erika's singing. Like Erika, she also wanted to be free, but she couldn't possibly for the same reason. When Anneliese walked into the dress emporium and Madame Carp mistook her for Erika due to their identical appearances, Bertie believed she was really the princess and respected her. Bertie had a better life after the end of the movie, when the kingdom was no longer bankrupt and Madame Carp left. She later attended Anneliese and Erika's wedding, and is seen at the front of the crowd, waving at the newlyweds.
