Barbie & Her Sisters in The Great Puppy Adventure[]

Barbie Roberts is a character from Barbie & Her Sisters in The Great Puppy Adventure. She is voiced by Kelly Sheridan.

Story[]

Barbie and her sisters went to stay in Willows for a fortnight because they were starting summer vacation. Barbie drove them there in their pink camper. Being the youngest, Chelsea didn't remember Willows, but Barbie remembered it well. She looked forward to spending time with Grandma Roberts, who they were staying with, and going to Willow fest with her childhood friend Christie.

Grandma said that the treasure was buried by the town's founders for a time of need so that Willows would always prosper. Barbie's sisters wanted to go on a treasure hunt, but Barbie wanted to spend time with Christie. Skipper took photos of the map on her tablet, and they began searching for the treasure the next day.

Barbie met Christie at Willowfest. They wanted to go on their old favorite ride, the Storminator, but it was shut down. Joe and Marty heard Skipper, Stacie and Chelsea talking about treasure, and decided to follow them so they could find the treasure and have it for themselves. Barbie found out that Christie had to move away because her parents couldn't afford to live in Willows anymore. She told Grandma over dinner that there weren't as many rides at Willowfest as she remembered, and Grandma responded that Willowfest had gotten small over the years.

The next day, Barbie went out with Taffy to relive good memories. The younger sisters and their puppies went to solve the latest riddle and they figured out that the answer was Lake Willows. From the ferris wheel at Willowfest, Joe and Marty noticed the girls at the lake and decided to follow them so they could begin finding the treasure for themselves. Barbie noticed that almost everything in Willows was closed or needed repairs.

The next day, she joined the treasure hunt. Skipper's tablet was gone, but they still had the original map and the willow tree charm on Stacie's necklace. There were song lyrics on the map. Barbie read the second verse: "Meet me there at three. By the shady willow tree." The sisters celebrated at Willow fest, and when they were ready to go home, they took the puppies with them. Tiffany said she would visit whenever Grandma Roberts could. With their reward treasure, the girls created a new treasure hunt by hiding the treasure and making a new map to give the townspeople something to believe in.

Physical Appearance[]

When arriving in Willows, Barbie wore a pale pink peplum top with a floral design consisting of pink roses with green leaves. She wore this with light blue jeans, and pink sandals. She wore her hair down, with a braid. The next day, Barbie wore a blue denim jacket with rolled up sleeves, a white top with pink stripes and roses, gray pants, and black boots. She also wore this when hiding the treasure. While using her bike and exploring the cave, she wore a pink cycling helmet with a light on it, and harnesses. While being rewarded for saving the town, Barbie wore her hair down with a white, sleeveless floral shirt, a sparkly pink layered skirt, and pink sandals. She was awarded a gold necklace. She wore a pink and white necklace.

Trivia[]

Barbie & Her Sisters in A Puppy Chase[]

Barbie Roberts is a character in Barbie & Her Sisters in A Puppy Chase. She is voiced by Erica Lindbeck. Barbie and her sisters go to an island with their puppies so that Chelsea can take part in a dance competition. When the sisters get separated from the puppies, the girls set out to find them.

Story[]

Barbie and her sisters Skipper, Stacie, Chelsea fly to an island so that Chelsea can compete in a dance competition. They bring their puppies with them. On the plane, Barbie says she can't wait to show her sisters a surprise. The plane lands, and Barbie immediately goes to rent a car instead of going to the hotel.

Barbie reassures her sisters that they have plenty of time to do whatever they want. All the cars are already reserved, so Barbie has to use a golf cart instead. They send their bags ahead to the hotel, and drive towards Banyan Tree Park using a map, but the map blows away. They find Banyan Tree Park, and Barbie reveals that the surprise is the Dancing Horse Festival.

Barbie lets the puppies out to play while she and her sisters watch the horses dance. She cheers for a young horse named Beauty as she performs. After the show, Barbie tells the horse trainer, Vivian, that she enjoyed the show. Stacie asks the other horse trainer, Marco, if he can recommend any fun beaches. He recommends White Sands Campground.

Vivian and Marco leave, not knowing that the girls' puppies made their way onto their horse trailer. Barbie and her sisters see the puppies in the trailer, so Barbie tries to use the golf cart to follow Vivian and Marco. The golf cart gets stuck when she tries to take a shortcut through the arch of a banyan tree. Barbie asks Stacie if she remembers where the trainers are going. When Stacie tells Barbie that they're going to White Sands Campground, Barbie says they can hike there the next day.

After looking in the golf cart, Barbie finds some water and blankets. She and her sisters lie under the stars. They play the What If game and the Imagination game, where they imagine different scenarios such as having a luxury camper. Then Barbie tells her sisters about the macaw constellation that native fishermen used to navigate the seas by night. Barbie and her sisters fall asleep, but it starts to rain. They sleep in the golf cart and set out the next day to find the puppies.

Barbie says the plan is to hike up to the main road, call for help, get the puppies, and then go back to the hotel before the dance competition. They find that the road was ruined by a flood. Barbie spots a mountain, and says they will hike up it instead. As they walk, Barbie says she misses her puppy Taffy. Barbie helps her sisters to climb a steep cliff, and then they zip-line down from the mountain.

Barbie and her sisters follow a path to a village, where they get access to a camper like the one they imagined the night before. After getting lost while driving and having to change a tire, the camper runs out of gas. They get out of the camper and see the horse trailer at White Sands Campground, but the puppies are nowhere to be found.

While Skipper and Stacie search for the horse trainers, Barbie and Chelsea wait behind. Chelsea gets upset about potentially missing the competition. She also gets annoyed at Barbie for being positive all the time. Barbie comforts Chelsea, saying that that no one can control what's going to happen all the time. She suggests that they play the Everything Stinks game. Barbie tells Chelsea doing her best at the competition is more important than winning, and they hug.

Skipper and Stacie return, and Barbie sees the puppies returning. Barbie reunites with Taffy, and she thanks Vivian and Marco for taking care of her and the other puppies. Vivian and Marco give Barbie and her sisters a ride to the competition in the horse trailer, but they come to another that has been ruined by a flood.

Barbie and her sisters use the horses to cross the gap in the road and get to the competition. Barbie rides Beauty's mother, Silver. They come to a crossroads, and Barbie picks a path that leads to Banyan Tree Park. Barbie apologizes to her sisters for not just going straight to the hotel the day before, and says she hid her own worries so that she would seem reliable to them. Her sisters comfort her and tell her they had fun looking for the puppies.

Barbie looks at the stars and sees the macaw constellation and says they can use it as a map to the competition. They get there with enough time for Barbie and Chelsea to change clothes. Barbie meets up with Vivian and Marco, and Chelsea goes on stage. Chelsea gets nervous while performing, so Beauty joins in. Beauty's sister Spirit also joins in, so Barbie gets on stage to try and stop her. Chelsea tells Barbie to join in too.

While Barbie and Chelsea dance with Beauty and Spirit, Barbie's sisters, their puppies, and Silver start dancing on stage as well. Chelsea wins the competition, and says she couldn't have done without Barbie and everyone who helped her. The music gets turned back on, so Barbie dances again with everyone.

Physical Appearance[]

Barbie is a teenage girl with light skin, blue eyes and long blonde hair. For most of the film, she has her hair in a high ponytail with a pink hair tie. She mainly wears a white graphic t-shirt that says "MALIBU GIRL", with a pink photo of palm trees; a sleeveless pink leather jacket; a yellow skirt with black polka dots; black leggings and black shoes. When she arrives on the island, she briefly wears cat-eye sunglasses, and a blue and yellow lei. When Barbie uses a zip-line, she wears a blue helmet with green leaves printed on it. The helmet also has some purple sections. While riding Silver, Barbie wears a black horse-riding helmet.

At Chelsea's dance competition, Barbie wears her hair in a low side ponytail with a pink hair tie, and three pink flowers. Barbie wears a sleeveless, frilly top that is dark pink at the top, and transitions to yellow at the bottom. She wears this with light blue jeans, and black boots.

Personality[]

Barbie is a polite girl who is known for being optimistic, positive and enthusiastic. She is also known for planning ahead. She is encouraging and supportive to her younger sisters. She gives them advice and comforts them when they need it. When they climb a cliff, Barbie goes last after making sure her sisters are up safely. She also tells her sisters to put on seat belts when she drives. When Chelsea is nervous about her competition, Barbie tells her that the most important thing is that she does her best.

Barbie also encourages Beauty and Chelsea when they get nervous while performing. Taffy implies that Barbie has trouble sleeping if they're not together. Barbie misses Taffy while they are separated. Barbie loses some of her optimism when she gets her sisters lost of their way to the competition, and says she doesn't always know what to do. She reveals that sometimes, she was just as worried as her sisters when they tried to find the puppies, but she hid it so she could seem reliable.

Barbie: Dolphin Magic[]

Barbie Roberts is the main protagonist of Barbie: Dolphin Magic. She is voiced by Erica Lindbeck. Barbie and her sisters go to an island to visit Ken during his marine biology internship. They befriend a mermaid named Isla and help her to free the Gemstone Dolphins from Marlo's research facility, where Ken works.

Story[]

Barbie, her sisters and their puppies stay at an island resort while visiting Ken during his marine biology internship. Stacie has sprained her ankle, so Barbie gives her binoculars to help her look around. Chelsea asks Ken if he has seen any mermaids. Skipper says mermaids aren't real, but Barbie says not seeing mermaids doesn't mean they don't exist. Barbie, Skipper, Ken and the puppies use a speedboat to go free diving in a coral reef. Skipper takes a blurry photo of a mermaid named Isla, and then Barbie, Ken and Skipper follow Isla to Marlo's research facility, where Ken works.

Isla hides while Barbie and the others look at Emerald, a green dolphin locked in the pool for sick animals at the facility. Barbie assumes that Emerald got trapped because he looks fine. Marlo stops Barbie when she tries to free him. Ken asks Marlo if Emerald is a Gemstone Dolphin, but Marlo claims they're not real. Ken says that means they're like mermaids, so Chelsea insists that mermaids are real. Barbie tells her that anything is possible. Marlo says a vet will be flying in to check on the dolphin the following day, and she tells everyone to leave. The puppies get left behind so Barbie goes back to get them. She meets Isla, who has used a magic necklace to turn her tail into legs. Barbie catches Isla trying to free Emerald.

Isla says Emerald is green because he is a Gemstone Dolphin, not because he is sick. Barbie and Isla make a deal that Isla will wait for the vet to check Emerald tomorrow afternoon, as long as Barbie doesn't tell people about the Gemstone Dolphins. Barbie invites Isla to meet her sisters at the resort. While Skipper looks at her photo of Isla, Isla says it could just be a weird sea creature. Barbie says it may be a Gemstone Dolphin. Isla reminds Barbie that she agreed not to talk about the dolphins. Barbie, who is used to telling her sisters everything, apologizes to Isla. Barbie and her sisters eat at the resort's sandwich bar with Isla. They return in the evening and Skipper takes a group photo of everyone, including Ken. Barbie introduces Isla to Ken, and then Barbie and her sisters make up a song.

Barbie invites Isla to have a sleepover at the cabin, and gives Isla some spare pajamas and a toothbrush. In the morning, Barbie and Isla go swimming. The Gemstone Dolphins find Isla and one of them touches her necklace, turning her legs back into a tail. Isla doesn't want Barbie to tell anyone that she is a mermaid, including her sisters. Isla teaches Barbie how to swim like a mermaid. They hear Emerald clicking in the distance and wonder how they can hear him even though they're not near the facility. They discover an underwater cave that may lead to the facility. Barbie waits at the surface while Isla explores it with one of the dolphins. Meanwhile, while Barbie's sisters are trying to find Barbie to tell her a helicopter has arrived. They think the helicopter belongs to the vet.

Barbie's sisters overhear Marlo and the helicopter owner, Hugo, discussing how they will profit off of Emerald. The sisters realize Hugo is not a vet. Meanwhile, Isla returns to Barbie and says the cave contains a dark maze of tunnels. Barbie and Isla realize the dolphins are missing, and Isla assumes they have gone to the facility to find Emerald. Barbie and Isla follow them there. Marlo captures the dolphins. Skipper looks at her tablet after putting a filter on her photo of Isla. Skipper sees that Isla is a mermaid, but Isla's face isn't visible in the photo. Barbie asks Ken to unlock the enclosure, but Marlo has changed the code. Isla feels upset that she trusted Barbie. Barbie apologizes, but Isla runs away.

Skipper tells Barbie that she looked up the logo on Hugo's helicopter and found out he is a sideshow owner who has been arrested before. Barbie comes up with a plan to free the dolphins and apologizes to Isla again. The plan involves distracting Marlo so the new code can be obtained. Barbie gives Isla a cue to splash her tail in water to distract Marlo. Stacie sees Isla with a tail. After getting the code and returning to the facility, Stacie asks how Isla was able to look like a mermaid during the plan. Barbie says they just used special effects. However, Isla acknowledges that it's hard for Barbie to keep a secret from her sisters. Isla reveals to everyone that she is a mermaid. Skipper tries using the new code, but Marlo changed it again.

Marlo arrives and Isla hides in an underwater tunnel with the dolphins, so Barbie tells Marlo that they escaped and are probably miles away already. Marlo and Hugo get in the helicopter, hoping to spot the dolphins from the air. Isla thinks the tunnel may be connected to the cave they found earlier. Isla takes a shell off her necklace and gives it to Barbie. Isla explains that if they both hold a shell from the necklace, it will create a current of light and color that can be followed underwater. It is how merpeople and friends of mermaids find each other in the vast ocean. Isla says the light will lead her to Barbie, so Barbie and Stacie go to the cave entrance.

Barbie uses the light to guide Isla and the dolphins to the cave entrance. Isla hugs Barbie and thanks her. Ken arrives in the speedboat, and Barbie and Isla get on. The dolphins swim alongside the boat. Once the water gets shallow, Barbie says goodbye to Isla and says she will miss her. Isla tells Barbie to keep the shell. Isla swims with the dolphins. Marlo sees Isla and wants to capture her instead of the dolphins. Barbie quickly disguises herself as a mermaid to trick Marlo. Barbie gets captured instead of Isla. Barbie tells Isla that she will lose her research facility because she exploits animals instead of helping them. Isla and the dolphins get away safely. Barbie keeps using the shell to try and reunite with Isla.

Later, at the beach, Skipper tells Barbie that she won a photo competition after submitting photos from their trip. She says she submitted all the photos from their trip, except for the photo of Isla as a mermaid. Barbie agrees that the best photo is the group selfie. Barbie wonders how Isla is doing, so Skipper suggests trying the shell again. It doesn't seem to work at first, so Barbie sighs and says she misses Isla. Isla finds Barbie and they hug. Isla says she wouldn't have found Barbie if she hadn't kept using the shell, and she got closer to finding Barbie each time she used it. Barbie says she would never give up on Isla, her "sister of the sea", and they put their arms around each other as they watch the Gemstone Dolphins swim nearby.

Barbie is a vlogger who lives in a Dreamhouse with her family and their pets. The Roberts family live in Malibu, California, where Barbie attends Golden Beach High school with her friends.

Story[]

Pre-Dreamhouse Adventures[]

In "Welcome to the Dreamhouse!", Barbie says she moved to Malibu with her family almost 10 years ago. She moved next door to Ken and they became best friends.

In "Baby Sister Babysitter", Barbie says she babysat for the first time when she was 14.

In "The Roof Fairy", Barbie says when she was 6, she believed she could magically become a pony.

In "Balancing Act", Barbie says that her father-daughter tradition with George is to spend the equinox together. They go to a hill to watch meteors, make egg puns, and eat curried egg salad pizza. They have done it since Barbie was about 6. One year, it rained so much that they couldn't see the sky clearly. Another year, a coyote ate their pizza, and once, they got lost and ended up in Fresno, California. Even though things didn't always go to plan, Barbie loved spending time with her dad.

In "Time Will Tell", it is revealed that when Barbie and Ken were in 3rd grade, they had a "detective agency." Barbie says they were the best 9-year-old detectives in Malibu, and they called themselves the Roberts-Carson Detective Agency.

In "A Day at the Beach", Barbie is shown building an extravagant sandcastle as a child. She built a lot of sandcastles growing up, influenced by Margaret being an engineer.

In "Virtually Famous", Barbie reflects on how she wanted to be famous when she was a kid. She would dance for her toy animals and play applause audio on her computer after the performance.

In "The Ballad of Windy Willows", Barbie says she practically grew up in her Aunt Adele's Windy Willows inn in Willows, Wisconsin. Barbie had wanted a cat for a long time, so Adele gave Barbie a kitten named Blissa. Barbie named her Blissa because Adele described the cat as "blissful".

Season 1[]

In "Welcome to the Dreamhouse!", the Roberts move into their new Dreamhouse. Chelsea says she misses the old house. The Dreamhouse starts to malfunction and the Reardons have the Roberts' moving van towed. Skipper suspects that the Dreamhouse is malfunctioning because either Chelsea is pranking them, or the Reardons have hacked the Dreamhouse. Chelsea gets upset at the accusation, and Skipper and Barbie conclude that the Reardons wouldn't know how to hack the Dreamhouse. Barbie comforts Chelsea and reminds her that their Grandma said home is anywhere you're with the people you love. Margaret fixes the Dreamhouse and the family gets settled in.

In "Clubhouse (Remix)", it is Chelsea's birthday. As a present, Barbie and her sisters want to redecorate Chelsea's clubhouse, with help from Barbie's friends. They leave the clubhouse by the curb while they look for decorations. A garbage truck takes the clubhouse, so Barbie and her friends follow it to the LA County Trash Compacting Facility. They take the clubhouse home and redecorate it, and Chelsea says it's the best present ever.

In "Nobody's Cupcake", Barbie competes in an extreme baking show called Bake 'til You Ache. Her rival is Tammy Bounceway, a rising social media lifestyle influencer. Tammy cheats during the show, but Barbie wins with help from her family in the audience.

In "The Great Pioneer Adventure", the Roberts spend the weekend living like American pioneers in the 1840. They forgo phones, cars and electronics and camp in their backyard. They become increasingly inconvenienced and exhausted living without technology. Margaret has a crisis at work and has to deliver something to her office, but due to a traffic jam, Margaret won't be able to get there in time. Barbie says that their pioneer ancestors didn't give up, so the Roberts shouldn't give up either. Barbie and Skipper ride a horse named Misty to get Margaret's delivery to work in time.

In "Baby Sister Babysitter", Barbie is going to use the camper to watch an outdoor movie with her friends. Margaret reminds her that she is supposed to be babysitting. George suggests that Skipper babysit instead of Barbie. Barbie feels uneasy leaving Skipper alone with the kids, but she doesn't want to undermine Skipper's confidence by staying. Barbie keeps worrying about how Skipper is doing, so she goes home and spies on her. Barbie gets caught and admits that she should've given Skipper more credit for being a capable and responsible babysitter.

In "Road Trip", Daisy announces that she has the opportunity to DJ at a huge desert music festival named Fun Fling. The audience will have 16,000 people, which makes Daisy nervous. Barbie, Daisy, Nikki, Teresa and Renee go on a road trip in Barbie's camper to get to the festival. Daisy keeps causing delays until Barbie finally asks her if she's okay. Barbie reminds Daisy of her passion for DJ'ing and that Daisy always says, "If you love what you do, it's worth doing no matter what." Barbie and Daisy see that the others fell in a pit, so they work together to save them. They drive to the festival and Daisy DJ's while Barbie and the others dance.

In "Picture Perfect Cake", Barbie enters a robotics competition at Robot Con. It takes place the same weekend as her parents' 20th anniversary, so Skipper plans their anniversary party instead of Barbie. Barbie has made a surprise cake for the party. She goes to Robot Con and has trouble with her robot. At the Dreamhouse, Skipper ruins Barbie's cake and tries to replace it. Skipper's new cake doesn't come out well, so Barbie helps her to make a new cake and Skipper helps Barbie with her robot.

In "The Roof Fairy", Chelsea tells Barbie about a the Roof Fairy. Barbie says she isn't real, and then feels guilty, so she tries to bring the Roof Fairy to life for Chelsea. Barbie, Skipper and Stacie dress Ken up as the Roof Fairy, and tell him to go on the roof. Ken doesn't make it onto the roof in time before they bring Chelsea outside. They see the real Roof Fairy on the roof and then Chelsea goes to bed, happy that the Roof Fairy exists.

Season 2[]

In "Balancing Act", Barbie feels like she has outgrown her father-daughter tradition of spending equinox with George. She agrees to let Chelsea do it instead, but Barbie feels sad about giving up the one-on-one time with George. Barbie finds them and admits she's not ready to give up the tradition, and the three of them do the tradition together. Barbie learns that to help you deal with hard changes, you need to rely on things that never change, such as love for your family, the support from friends, and the comfort from jokes.

Barbie asks if they can start working together after her trip to Floravia, but Rose tells her she won't wait. Barbie's sister Skipper encourages Barbie to take the opportunity, so Barbie agrees.

At the airport, Barbie's family sees her off and she does a live stream of her and her friends. Barbie's dog Taffy sneaks into Barbie's backpack. Rose phones Barbie and tells her it was boring, and that Barbie has to reinvent herself. Barbie wonders if she can become someone different in Floravia, a place far from her comfort zone. Barbie finds out Taffy was in her bag, and she finds out she'll be staying at the palace for the week. Taffy runs after Amelia's pet rabbit, Snowy, and Barbie chases them, leading her to Amelia's secret hangout room.

Amelia tells Barbie that she invited her because they look alike, and she is interested in switching places with Barbie for the week to escape her controlled royal life. She tells Barbie that Barbie can live as a princess with millions of people watching her, and Amelia can live as a normal girl before being crowned queen in a week's time. Barbie: Big City, Big Dreams[]

Note: From this movie onwards, Barbie will be referred to as "Malibu" to differentiate her from the other Barbie Roberts (who is nicknamed "Brooklyn").

Barbie Roberts, nicknamed Malibu, is one of the main characters in Barbie: Big City, Big Dreams. She is from Malibu, California and has the same name as a girl from Brooklyn, New York. They become close friends while doing a summer program at the Handler Arts Academy in New York City, where they are roommates. They compete to see who has what it takes to get a spotlight solo.[1]

Story[]

Barbie is a high school student and vlogger. She dreams of being a Broadway star, so she enrols in a summer program at Handler Arts Academy in New York. Her family and friends in Malibu wish her well as she arrives at the academy. As Barbie struggles with her luggage, she gets helped by a female student who has come from Brooklyn. The academy's custodian informs them that they have showed up a day early, and tells them where the dorm rooms are.

When Barbie and the girl from Brooklyn find a door with the name "Barbie Roberts" on it, they discover that they have the same name and are going to be roommates. They nickname themselves based on where they are from, so Barbie becomes Malibu and her roommate becomes Brooklyn. Brooklyn says she spent every summer of her childhood in training programs, but Malibu says she is self-taught. They bond over their love for music, and become fast friends as they hang out together and explore New York.

On the subway, Malibu sees a poster of a popstar named Emmie. Malibu is a big fan, but Brooklyn says Emmie is an old childhood friend that she hasn't seen in a long time. Malibu and Brooklyn make a pact to not let stardom ruin their friendship. At the academy, Dean Morrison says that the annual Spotlight Solo will be livestreamed from Times Square. Malibu and Brooklyn meet a costume student named Rafa and his dog Gato. He gives them sequinned dresses that are supposed to sparkle, but the remote control he uses to light up the dresses won't work.

During her first week at the academy, Malibu struggles in all of her classes. Ken phones her to ask how she's doing, but she has mixed feelings. Later, Malibu, Brooklyn and Rafa discover that Emmie is attending the school in disguise so that she can be treated like a normal girl. Emmie explains that she lost contact with people because of her controlling father, who manages her. Emmie and Brooklyn become friends again, and Malibu is happy that they found each other. Malibu and her friends keep it a secret that Emmie is at the school.

Malibu and Brooklyn go to Central Park and put on the dresses that Rafa gave them. Brooklyn tells Malibu that her mother is a pilot, and her father is worried about her. Malibu can relate, because her father is also uneasy about her being in New York. They take photos to send to their fathers, then dance and twirl in front of a fountain, which makes their dresses sparkle. Later, Emmie's father, Mr. Miller, comes to Handler Arts Academy to observe the students. He wants Emmie to have the Spotlight Solo, even though Emmie just wants to learn. Rafa records the class as Mr. Miller observes. While Malibu is dancing, accidentally knocks Brooklyn into an orchestra pit, spraining Brooklyn's ankle.

Malibu feels guilty about the accident, but she and her friends keep a positive attitude and bond over their struggles. Dean Morrison calls Malibu into a meeting and expels her from the academy for sabotaging Brookyln, according to a witness. Dean Morrison also explains Malibu's expulsion to Brooklyn. Brooklyn tells Malibu that they are no longer friends. They lament over their friendship ending, but Rafa and Emmie find out that Mr. Miller was the witness. Emmie confronts her father, and Rafa sends his video recording of the class to Brooklyn. Brooklyn shows it to Dean Morrison.

Malibu goes back to California and is devastated that Brooklyn thinks she sabotaged her. Brooklyn and her mother go to California so Brooklyn can apologize to Malibu and bring her back to Handler Arts Academy. On the plane to New York, Brooklyn explains how she found out the truth. Their friendship is rekindled and they find out that they both got the Spotlight Solo. Emmie reveals her identity during the livestream and introduces Malibu and Brooklyn. They wear the dresses that Rafa gave them, which now light up, and they perform a song about their friendship while their family and friends watch live in Times Square.

Physical Appearance[]

Barbie is a teenage girl with light skin, blue eyes and long blonde hair. The Barbie doll wears her signature performance look: a pink, blue, orange and silver sequin dress that lights up, with pink strappy platform heels. Her accessories are a silver necklace and pink headset microphone, and she has a pink electric guitar. The Barbie doll can be seen on Barbie Wiki.

Personality[]

Barbie wants a solo performance at a performing arts program. She quickly makes friends with another girl who has the same name as her, and they compete for the solo.[2]

Trivia[]

  • Malibu also appears in Barbie Vlogger, Dreamhouse Adventures and Barbie & Barbie: Double the Fun!
  • Before the movie came out, a Barbie Vlog named "MEET MY NEW FRIEND BARBIE!" was released. It was filmed in their dorm room. Malibu refers to Brooklyn as one of her closest friends. Brooklyn introduces herself and explains that their nicknames are based on where they live, and that she wanted to meet "really cool and talented people" like Malibu. They ordered pizza and Malibu says she and Brooklyn are working on a song together, and ends the vlog by saying Brooklyn will appear in future vlogs.

Barbie: It Takes Two[]

"Barbie 'Malibu' Roberts is strong, confident and kind. She loves to express herself through music and enjoys being in the spotlight with her new best friend, 'Brooklyn'!"
- Official Description[1]

Barbara "Barbie" Roberts (also known as Malibu) is one of the main characters in the animated series Barbie: It Takes Two. She is voiced by America Young. Malibu has a best friend with the same name as her, so they nicknamed each other based on where they are from. Barbie is nicknamed "Malibu", and her friend is nicknamed "Brooklyn".

Story[]

Pre-It Takes Two[]

In "Festival Fiasco", Malibu says she grew up watching singers perform at the California Music & Food Festival.

It Takes Two[]

Season 1[]

In "It Takes Two", Brooklyn and Malibu get accepted for the fall semester at Handler. Brooklyn's parents don't want her to stay at the dorms, and Malibu's parents want her to come back to California. Brooklyn and Malibu want to stay at Brooklyn's house and attend Handler together, so Malibu tries to be a good houseguest. Malibu's sisters also want her to come home. After reminding her sisters that she loves them no matter what, Malibu asks for their understanding and they have a group hug. The next day, Brooklyn and Malibu try to show Malibu's parents how nice New York is, but it doesn't go well. Malibu gets an idea to perform a song about how much their friendship means to them. Brooklyn and Malibu get help stalling while they write and rehearse the song. After they perform, their parents change their minds and allow the girls to go to Handler together for the fall, with the girls staying at Brooklyn's house instead of the dorms.

In "First Day Frenzy", Malibu misses her family's traditions. Brooklyn find out that a famous Broadway actor named Bertram is a guest teacher at Handler for the year. Brooklyn is a big fan so she wants to audition to be in his acting class. Malibu, Brooklyn and Rafa meet a film student who calls himself The Dash. Brooklyn rehearses so much that she loses her voice, and The Dash says that's why he always has an understudy. This gives Malibu an idea to say Brooklyn's lines off stage while Brooklyn lip syncs them on stage, but Malibu loses Brooklyn's script. Malibu improvises by referencing random speeches, songs and movies. Brooklyn lip syncs and acts it out, and Bertram is impressed by Brooklyn's "inventive comedic commentary" on Shakespeare. Bertram could see Malibu's shoes under the curtain while Brooklyn was on stage, so he knows she was performing too. Bertram says their acting reminded him of his own, and he says they can both be in his class.

Season 2[]

In "We've Got Magic to Do", Rafa books The Barbies two gigs as assistants for a magician named Magnifico. While they perform, Rafa and his cousin Izzy go to meetings to secure more gigs for The Barbies. Magnifico's first performance starts off shaky, so Malibu and Brooklyn hold an intermission and give him advice. Magnifico introduces them to his pigeon, Princess Petunia Pufferfeather, that he will use for the final trick. Petunia flies away after the first performance. After trying multiple ideas to catch Petunia , The Barbies wonder if Petunia enjoys performing as much as they do. They do an impromptu performance in the hopes that Petunia will join in, and she does. They bring Petunia back to Magnifico in time for the final trick.

In "Cut It Out", The Dash wants to make a film for Handler's annual film festival, so Malibu and Brooklyn agree to let him film them. He edits the film in a way that makes them look bad, so Malibu and Brooklyn want him to re-edit it. The Dash initially refuses to re-edit the film, but eventually does after being inspired by Stefan's miming. The final film shows Malibu and Brooklyn talking about how they are chasing their dreams and want their music to inspire people to do the same. The film wins the Audience Choice award.

In "Studio Sleuths", The Barbies record a song at Blown Speaker Studios. Things go missing around the studio, including Brooklyn's phone. Her phone has lyrics and melodies that she and Malibu had worked on for weeks, and none of it was backed up anywhere. Malibu phones Chelsea for help, since Chelsea is observant and has a great memory. Malibu's sisters help The Barbies to investigate who stole the missing objects. They discover it was Gato who stole Brooklyn's phone and the other objects as romantic gifts for the new studio dog, Guinevere.

In "For the Record", Malibu and Brooklyn accidentally breaks Kel's rare record album, Life in B-Flat by Ricky Bricks. Malibu and Brooklyn tell Jayla and Jackson to distract Kel so he doesn't find out it's broken. Lyla is in an underground network that trades rare albums, so she helps the girls to find a replacement. They trade several albums before eventually making a trade with Ricky Bricks himself. After Brooklyn says her father is a big fan, Ricky gives her VIP passes for Kel.

In "Knock It Off", Simone asks Malibu and Brooklyn to pot a plant and they put it in a popcorn bowl. It inspires them to start a business selling plants. Simone suggests keeping the plants in popcorn bowls since it shows the girls' personality, but they use plain plant pots instead. The girls make money from selling plants, but The Dash copies them and upstages them, so their customers go to him instead. The girls realize they should stop competing with The Dash and should use unconventional planters like Simone suggested. The customers start buying from the girls again and they make enough money for a recording session.

In "Costumed Capers", Rafa books Malibu and Brooklyn a gig as mascots for a costume company. They have to hand out flyers in Times Square. At the same time, two men wear the same mascot costumes while they prank people. The pranksters go to a restaurant that Simone and Kel are dining at, and Simone and Kel take a selfie with them, thinking they are Brooklyn and Malibu. A woman that was pranked accuses Simone and Kel of being accomplices, and then confronts Malibu and Brooklyn. They see the pranksters and everyone chases Malibu, Brooklyn and the pranksters until they catch them. Rafa says that the situation was such good publicity for the costume store that the owner doesn't care that not all the flyers were handed out.

In "Cupid Shuffle", Ken writes Malibu a letter about how he keeps thinking about her. Brooklyn considers it to be a love letter. Malibu admits Ken's feelings for her may be more than friendship. Handler Arts Academy is having a Spring Dance so Malibu and Brooklyn join the planning committee. Ticket sales are low, so Malibu and Brooklyn write love letters on behalf of students. They accidentally deliver the letters to the wrong recipients, but manage to swap them over to the right ones. Malibu wants The Barbies' next song to be about the importance of sharing your honest feelings with people. Brooklyn asks Malibu what she will say to Ken. Malibu doesn't know what she'll say, but she wants to write a letter to him. Brooklyn offers to write it for her. Malibu thanks her, but says she'll write it herself. They meet Rafa at the dance. Back in California, Malibu's friends are inspired by her to celebrate different forms of love, including love between friends.

In "Team No Screens", Epiphany points out that Malibu, Daisy, Brooklyn and Rafa are glued to their phones, so they give her their phones and try to spend 24 hours without them. Daisy wants to see a movie, but she can't use her phone to look up showtimes, and Malibu can't look up trains to the movie theatre. Brooklyn finds it hard to be in the city without her phone, so Malibu suggests they all go camping. Malibu is able to relax while camping, but some squirrels steal their food. Malibu chases after them with Daisy, Rafa and Gato. They notice Brooklyn is gone and laugh after she explains how she was so desperate to use a phone that borrowed one from a stranger and climbed a tree to get a signal, resulting in her falling to the ground. Epiphany and Stefan find everyone to tell them that someone called Rafa about securing a gig for The Barbies. He has to phone back or they will lose their spot at a festival. Everybody forms a human tower so Rafa can stand on top and climb a tree to get a phone signal. After securing the gig, they go back to camp to relax.

In "Festival Fiasco", The Barbies are going to perform at the California Music & Food Festival. Malibu's family entered the festival's annual Chilli Cook-Off, and George put a secret ingredient blend in a jar. Malibu's family rushes to the festival and Malibu and Brooklyn drive there at their own pace. George accidentally left the jar behind, so Margaret asks Malibu to turn around and get it. Malibu's car gets a flat tire because of a wire hanger in the road, so Malibu and Brooklyn change the tire. They get the jar and then as they drive to the festival, they encounter several goats on the road. They lure the goats off the road and then get the jar to George in time to change their costumes and perform. They sing a song called "Feelings", inspired by Ken's love letter. When Malibu and Ken have a moment alone, she holds his hand and wants to talk about her feelings. Skipper interrupts to say it's time for the Chilli Cook-Off results. Brooklyn is disappointed that Skipper interrupted. The Roberts win the Chilli Cook-Off and Brooklyn eats chilli with Ken and the Roberts family.

In "Buddy's Is Booming", Buddy is struggling to pay the rent for his cafe due to low sales. Brooklyn phones Emmie for help. Emmie goes to the cafe and tells her fans she'll be there all day signing autographs and taking selfies. They make it a rule that customers must buy a pastry before meeting Emmie. Rafa thinks he overhears Malibu and Brooklyn saying they love Emmie's manager. Rafa tries to be a bad manager on purpose so the girls won't feel guilty about firing him. When they run out of pastries, Brooklyn, Malibu and Stefan try to make more, but they are not used to professional kitchens. Malibu and Brooklyn confront Rafa over his behavior and tell him they loved Emmie's manicure, not her manager. They say they would never replace him and have a group hug. Rafa invents a pastry called puffins (puffy muffins) and it helps to popularize the cafe.

In "To Dye For", Rafa books Malibu and Brooklyn a commercial audition with Gourmet Popcorn, a company which sells pickle popcorn. To help the girls stand out, Rafa makes them green costumes using a recipe his grandmother gave him. Rafa has to leave for an emergency before he finishes dyeing and drying the costumes, so Malibu and Brooklyn finish it for him. They can't find the recipe so they don't dry the costumes for long enough. The dye turns their skin green. Malibu and Brooklyn go to the audition with green skin and improvise a performance instead of following the script. The company loves the audition and the girls get a call-back audition.

In "Game On!, Malibu and Brooklyn compete in a game show hoping to win money for studio time. They win $1000 worth of potatoes. Bertram offers Brooklyn a slot at the highly prestigious acting academy he'll be opening in the fall. Malibu and Brooklyn's parents buy the potatoes from the girls to reward them for their hard work in school and on their music. Margaret says she is proud of how the girls made the demo on their own. George says it's their turn to help finish what the girls started. Kel says they've decided to split the cost. Malibu thanks her parents and hugs Brooklyn. Malibu is excited for the future and Brooklyn doesn't mention her solo opportunity.

In "Race to the Finish", the West Coast Roberts go to New York to bring Malibu and Brooklyn to California for the summer. The girls try to give their finished demo to Otto Phoenix, but he is out of his office and won't be back until after they've left for California. The girls feel defeated so their parents motivate them and Malibu's sisters offer to help. Malibu, Brooklyn and Rafa contact many people they know to detour Otto's limo to Brooklyn Bridge Park, where The Barbies perform for him and deliver their demo. Rafa says a lot of people helped them in return for how much the girls helped people during the year. When the West Coast Roberts leave with Brooklyn, Rafa and Gato sneak onto the camper, so Malibu says they will need to take a detour through Queens.

Barbie: Mermaid Power[]

Barbie Roberts, nicknamed Malibu, is one of the main characters in Barbie: Mermaid Power. She has a best friend with the same name as her, so they nicknamed each other based on where they are from. Barbie is nicknamed "Malibu", and her friend is nicknamed "Brooklyn". They turn into mermaids and save a sea kingdom. During her adventure, Barbie transforms her old foe Marlo into a mermaid to save her from drowning, ultimately reforming her, and is rewarded when Marlo helps awaken her Water powers, which turns her into a Water mermaid.

Story[]

As Malibu is out in an area of the ocean assisting her sisters and Brooklyn in cleaning up the trash that has accumulated there, she is alerted by Stacie to a glow emanating from her backpack. She reveals the mermaid necklace given to her by Isla, which amazes Brooklyn, as does the revelation that Isla was a mermaid that the Roberts sisters had helped a few years ago. Brooklyn is skeptical of the story, but Malibu convinces her to join them on this latest adventure. She joins hands with her sisters and Brooklyn, and as soon as they dive underwater, they are all transformed into mermaids by the magic in Malibu's necklace.

Malibu uses the magic within the necklace to lead the group to Isla, who welcomes them all back with open arms, and when Malibu introduces Brooklyn and reveals her given name to be the same as hers, Isla is fascinated at the concept of two different people with the same name. She leads them into Pacifica, where they meet several other mermen and mermaids, and explains that the two of them have been chosen as contestants in a competition to determine who will become the new Power Keeper, who is revealed to be the most powerful of all mermaids.

However, when Coralia welcomes the chosen contestants at the opening ceremony, three of the merpeople, Finn Aquavilla, Talleigha Fishtail, and Sareena Seasquid, do not take kindly to "land dwellers", as they call them, invading their inner sanctum, because they believe that humans are the cause of many problems faced in the ocean. Isla, however, believes that bringing humans into Pacifica will solve their current problems, while Coralia shares her point of view.

While practicing for the competition, Malibu is having trouble with any ability to summon power from her being and laments that she may never do so, but Brooklyn consoles her. This exchange is noticed by Aquaryah, Finn's little sister, and she offers to train them in awakening their innate powers. As they train, Malibu witnesses Brooklyn's gradual development of Fire powers, but then Finn confronts Aquaryah about interacting with strangers. However, Aquaryah is confident in her own abilities, despite her brother's warnings. This heated exchange angers Skipper, and she awakens Air powers in response, being congratulated by Aquaryah.

At the mermaid feast that night, Malibu and Brooklyn are approached by Talleigha and Sareena and challenged to a "Power-Off" at the site of a dangerous whirlpool. Because Malibu is still unable to properly summon power, she and Brooklyn are at a huge disadvantage. Upon being insulted by Talleigha for being unable to summon her power, Malibu begins to lose her self-confidence, until Brooklyn comes to her defense.

This protective attitude is what awakens Brooklyn's Fire powers, to which Talleigha, who refuses to be outdone by a human, responds by awakening her own Fire powers and using them to sneak-attack Malibu, pushing her over the edge and into the eye of the whirlpool. She is ultimately saved by Stacie, whose concern for her awakens Earth powers, which the younger girl uses to manipulate a boulder and block the whirlpool's current.

At the competition the next day, Malibu does not get off to a good start, so Brooklyn volunteers her aid. As the events progress, Malibu does manage to fare better, though, but then, Viva the vaquita arrives and reveals, thanks to translations from the newly awakened Water mermaid Sareena, that Aquaryah has been kidnapped. For unknown reasons, Malibu also understands Viva and discovers that Chelsea has also been kidnapped. But then, Coralia reveals an emergency that requires Pacifica's immediate attention and all mermen and mermaids with powers to take care of. As Brooklyn, Stacie, and Skipper leave with the merpeople, Malibu follows Viva as they head out to rescue Aquaryah and Chelsea.

Viva leads Malibu to an undersea vessel, which she discovers is the headquarters of her old foe, Marlo. She confronts the marine biologist regarding the recent kidnapping, while Marlo fires back with a rant regarding how she believed she was descended from merfolk because of the stories told to her by her grandmother. But at that point, the vessel's hull collapses inward, flooding the inside and threatening to drown both of them. Fortunately, Malibu is able to recover her necklace and decides to share the magic with Marlo, turning them both into mermaids and saving their lives. But then, the vessel's hull collapses further, trapping Malibu under a pile of debris.

Malibu tries to convince Marlo that there is more to being a mermaid than she knows, and pleads with Marlo to help free her as Marlo is trying to retrieve a tiara lodged near a wall. Once she retrieves the tiara, Marlo is reminded of her grandmother's words regarding the tiara and places it on Malibu's head, fully awakening Malibu's Water powers and allowing her to free herself and blast them an exit out of Marlo's vessel. Malibu and Marlo then meet up with the other merpeople at the island of trash. When they arrive, they are later joined by Chelsea and Aquaryah, who escaped from Marlo's grasp earlier.

Malibu assists the many merfolk who are working to rid the ocean of the mound of accumulated trash, but no matter how much they clear away, they cannot clear it away all at once. The merpeople explain they could accomplish this task with the power of the Power Keeper, and Malibu explained that she brought that very being with her. She reveals that Aquaryah possesses all the traits necessary to be this one mermaid that can rise above the others, and Aquaryah, inspired by such words, awakens her innate powers as the new Power Keeper. With all the merfolk, including Malibu, channeling their energy into her, Aquaryah uses her newfound power to eradicate the island of trash. At the end of the day, Malibu celebrates with the merpeople, her sisters, Marlo, and Brooklyn at the Moon festival at Mermaid Rock.

Physical Appearance[]

Human[]

Malibu's appearance is the same as in previous series, such as Dreamhouse Adventures and It Takes Two. Her blonde hair is plain and left down, and she wears a royal blue one piece swimsuit decorated with silver and white stars. She starts wearing the shell necklace she received from Isla after being alerted by Stacie to its glow.

Mermaid[]

Her hair is a vivid cerulean blue. Her tail ombres from blue-violet to light blue. She wears a pink top, complete with a pink sash worn as a belt around her tail.

Mermaid Powers[]

  • Transformation: Thanks to a shell that was given by Isla, Malibu is able to transform herself or others into mermaids or humans.
  • Water manipulation/Hydrokinesis: Malibu can control and manipulate water at will. It is unclear, however, if her powers will remain in her human form.
  • Aquatic animal communication: With the gift of the power of water, Malibu can communicate with aquatic animals whilst no other mermaid/merman can do. This is seen where she communicates with a narwhal.

Personality[]

The oldest of the sisters, Malibu is kind, friendly and outgoing. She is helpful as much as possible, whether it is helping clean the ocean of trash or helping out a mermaid city. She can occasionally be insecure, feeling like she isn't as strong as the others, but she is still determined to do her best no matter what. She is also intelligent and smart, even if she can be a bit ditzy. She is the most level-headed and grounded of the sisters, and a natural leader.

Trivia[]

  • This movie is the first time the main Barbie character has has a blue theme as rather than pink or purple since Barbie of Swan Lake and Barbie as the Island Princess.

Story[]

Season 1[]

When Barbie Met Peggy[]

Malibu and Brooklyn find a baby pegasus at the beach after a giant wave. After bringing the pegasus to the Dreamhouse, Malibu sees the pegasus float and Chelsea names her Peggy. After searching online, Malibu touches Peggy and wishes she knew how to get her home. Peggy shows Malibu a magic vision of Peggy getting wings after a giant wave washes over her. Malibu finds Brooklyn and they take Peggy to the beach, hoping another giant wave will give Peggy wings to fly home. A Glyph chases after them on the way to the beach. At the beach, Malibu and Brooklyn miss the wave, but Malibu says she will find a way to get Peggy home. Brooklyn touches Peggy and wishes she didn't have to go back to New York yet. Peggy grants Brooklyn's wish, so Brooklyn's parents buy the Reardons' old house and move in. Malibu and Brooklyn are overjoyed and plan on finding out who the Glyph is.

Finding Home[]

George tells Malibu and Brooklyn to find Peggy a new home. Malibu thinks they should find the Glyph and talk to her about Peggy. Rocki disguises herself and encounters Malibu and Brooklyn when they go to a pet store to buy food for Peggy. Ken's family arranges a barbecue to welcome Brooklyn's family to the neighborhood. Ken sees Peggy, but Malibu doesn't tell him Peggy is magical. Teresa's cousin Alex leaves his phone at the pet store, so Brooklyn and Malibu return it to him at his store. He plans on opening a photography store, so he takes photos of Malibu and Brooklyn. The Glyph follows Malibu and Brooklyn to Alex's store while Peggy runs amok, so they distract the Glyph from seeing Peggy. Ken helps to get Peggy back to his backyard. Malibu thanks him and he says he would do anything for her. Alex decides to open a selfie museum and gifts Malibu and Brooklyn a framed photo of them together. Malibu and Brooklyn sing "Just the Beginning" at the barbecue.

Barbie, You Can Drive My Car[]

Malibu tries to give Brooklyn a driving lesson in preparation for Brooklyn's road test. Malibu feels nervous during the lesson, which makes Brooklyn nervous. They agree to end the lesson so they don't have a falling out. Brooklyn later gets a lesson from Margaret, using Malibu's car. Brooklyn wishes the car could fly, unaware Peggy is in the backseat. To help Brooklyn land the flying car by at the Dreamhouse, Malibu and her sisters use helium balloons as a signal. Brooklyn later passes her road test. Malibu is excited for Brooklyn to work at the water park with her, but Brooklyn doesn't feel ready to drive there so she gets a job at the selfie museum instead. The Glyph has also started working there and now goes by the name Rocki.

Ken One and Ken Two[]

Trey invites Malibu and Brooklyn to his housewarming party. Malibu and Brooklyn each want to spend a lot of time with Ken. Malibu wants Ken to help him test new camper features with Margaret, and Brooklyn wants to watch movies with him. Ken wishes he could be in two places at once, so Peggy makes a clone appear. Ken goes with Malibu while his clone hangs out with Brooklyn. The clone wishes for several more clones. Stacie phones Ken to tell him and Malibu overhears. Ken explains that he finds it hard to balance hanging out with Malibu and Brooklyn since the three of them became close friends during the summer. Ken loves hanging out with Brooklyn, but sometimes he just wants to hang out with Malibu. He feels conflicted because he doesn't want Brooklyn to feel left out.

Malibu is understanding and encourages Ken to be honest. Ken holds Malibu's hand and says he needs to learn how to say "no." Malibu pulls her hand away and changes the subject to whereabouts of the clones. Once the clones are found and brought back to Ken's, Malibu and the others throw their own party to stop the clones from going to Trey's. Malibu and Brooklyn go to Trey's to prevent him from coming to look for Brooklyn and seeing the clones. Rocki comes to Ken's party and freezes everyone. She tries to get to Peggy, but Peggy stops her. When they unfreeze, Malibu and the others can't remember what happened. They let Rocki party with them and Rocki is happy to have friends.

Peggy-napped![]

Malibu relies on Ken to watch Peggy while she isn't around. Malibu calls Ken the "best friend ever". After she leaves, Ken sadly repeats the word "friend." Ken falls asleep and wakes to find Peggy is missing. He asks Brooklyn to help him find Peggy, and has Brooklyn promise not to tell Malibu. Malibu asks what they are doing. Ken doesn't answer and Brooklyn lies. When Malibu finds out the truth, she feels hurt that her friends kept it from her. Ken confides in Brooklyn that on their summer road trip, he felt like he and Malibu were more than friends. He thought Malibu felt the same way, but now he feels like things aren't the same.

Malibu tells Nikki, Teresa, Renee and Daisy about Peggy so they can help search for her. Malibu mentions Brooklyn and Ken not telling her about Peggy being missing sooner, but Daisy says Malibu kept Peggy from them. Ken continues searching for Peggy and finds Malibu to apologize to her. She apologizes too for being hypocritical. They agree that some secrets are harder to reveal than others, but the truth will come out when the time is right. With help, they find Peggy and Brooklyn apologizes to Malibu for keeping secrets. Malibu suspects that Rocki was responsible for Peggy disappearing.

Skate to Me, Barbie[]

Brooklyn tells Malibu that her parents first date was at a roller dance competition. They won a trophy but lost it when they moved to California. Brooklyn wants to win an upcoming roller dance competition so she can give the trophy to her parents for their anniversary. She wants Malibu to be her partner, but Malibu suggests Trey because he is a talented skater. Malibu adds that if she and Brooklyn compete separately, it will double their chance of winning. Malibu tries partnering with Ken, but he twists his ankle. Malibu is fine with missing the competition to stay home with Ken, but Rocki agrees to be Malibu's partner instead.

During the competition, Rocki badly wants to beat Trey because he taunted her. Malibu has to stop Rocki from cheating with magic. After seeing Rocki use magic, Malibu realizes Rocki is the girl who has been after Peggy. Malibu is upset because she thought she and Rocki were friends. Rocki says they can still be friends and does a powerful forgetting spell on Malibu. Malibu forgets their routine and even her own name. Rocki mentions cheating again and the word "cheat" makes Malibu remember most things. They lose the competition, but Brooklyn wins and gives her parents the trophy. Malibu still can't remember that Rocki has been after Peggy.

There Might Be Dragons[]

Malibu has a reoccurring dream about a dragon, Peggy and a boat. She goes to work at Oceans Extreme but gets made redundant. Malibu still has to put on a final live show so Malibu designates roles to her friends and Skipper. Skipper has been writing a song and wants Malibu to use it for the show. Malibu wants to change the song and doesn't consult Skipper when choosing costumes for the show, which bothers Skipper. Before the show, Malibu tells Skipper that she didn't want to admit she was upset about losing her job, which is why she wanted to put on a big show and didn't listen to Skipper. They hug and perform Skipper's original song, joined by Brooklyn and Teresa. After the performance, they are shocked to see the dragon from Malibu's dream flying in the sky.

A Real Page Turner[]

Malibu finds information online about a book on Mesmer, a magical land with pegasus horses. Malibu and Brooklyn go to the library and find the book, which was written by Dru Charles. Malibu recognizes a photo of the author's house and they visit her. Malibu and Brooklyn don't think Peggy is safe with Rocki chasing her, so Malibu asks how to get Peggy back to Mesmer. Dru is unsure, but she wants to see Peggy. Malibu and Brooklyn bring Dru to see Peggy. Peggy had granted a wish for Elvy, a magical creature from a book Chelsea was reading, to be real. Elvy is able to read the language of Mesmer in Dru's book. Malibu listens as Elvy describes a "great task" needing to be done on Earth before a pegasus gets wings, and warns about a Glyph who wants wings. Malibu drives Dru home and Skipper tells everyone else that Rocki came over earlier and Peggy didn't like her being around.

A Selfie to Remember[]

Malibu asks Ken if he has ever wondered why they are not more than friends. He has, but worries it would mess up their friendship if it would've been better to remain friends. Ken says their friendship is the most precious thing in the world to him, and he doesn't know what he would do if they stopped being friends. Malibu agrees, but asks what if they could be more than friends. Ken thinks that would be amazing. They agree to go on a test date and if it is too awkward, they won't be more than friends. They want their date to be comfortable and familiar, so they decide to go to the selfie museum. Malibu and Ken get excited for their date.

During the date, Malibu and Ken see a man proposing. Malibu gets nervous and excuses herself to the bathroom. She accidentally goes in the store room and sees Rocki out of disguise. Rocki does a forgetting spell. Malibu can't remember seeing Rocki. She goes back to her date with Ken and can't remember that their date started already. Ken holds Malibu's hand and she gets nervous again. She excuses herself to the bathroom and finds Rocki in the store room again. Rocki does a stronger forgetting spell and Malibu can't remember she was on a date.

When Malibu returns to Ken and he questions her, she tells him he means too much to her for her to joke about forgetting a date. Ken thinks Malibu acting weird is connected to her trying to find the bathroom. She shows him the store room and they see Rocki. Rocki does a "mega forget" spell and both Malibu and Ken forget they were on a date. Malibu leaves to go home and Ken watches her go, sensing he is forgetting something really important.

Tiny Problems[]

A feather falls off Peggy and Brooklyn puts it in her pocket. Malibu only has a vague memory of being at the selfie museum when she went on a date with Ken. She hasn't spoken to Ken since and has a feeling he doesn't want to talk to her. Malibu and Brooklyn recollect how many weird things involving Rocki have happened. They go to confront her at the selfie museum. Rocki tries using magic to make them forget the confrontation, but it doesn't work because they have figured out she is the Glyph after Peggy. Rocki shrinks Malibu and Brooklyn. Rocki puts them in a little house prop and Tiger guards them. Malibu and Brooklyn see one of Peggy's feathers in the house, confirming to them that Rocki stole Peggy before.

When Tiger falls asleep, Malibu and Brooklyn try phoning Skipper. Their voices sound distorted because they have been shrunk. Skipper says she is going to the beach with Rocki and Peggy. Malibu and Brooklyn try sending an emoji message to Ken, but Malibu accidentally includes an angry emoji. Ken thinks Malibu is mad at him and replies with a sad emoji. Brooklyn wishes they had some of Peggy's magic. The feather in her pocket starts to glow. Malibu takes it and touches both feathers at the same time while Brooklyn distracts Tiger. Malibu makes a wish for her and Brooklyn to go back to normal. The wish gets granted and they go to the beach to find Rocki and Peggy. Rocki tells Peggy she is the key to Peggy's mission. A giant wave washes over Poppy and Malibu saves her from drowning. On shore, Malibu, Brooklyn, Skipper and Trey see Rocki and Peggy leaving on a boat, and Tiger flies after them.

Lizard Lift-Off[]

Using Ken's lifeguard boat, Malibu, Brooklyn and Ken follow Rocki's boat. Malibu thinks Skipper should wait behind so she can stay safe. As Malibu, Brooklyn and Ken leave on the boat, Skipper asks Malibu when she will take her seriously. Skipper waits behind with Trey. While following Rocki's boat, Malibu and her friends encounter Arlene. Rocki uses magic to make Ken's boat run out of gas, so Malibu and her friends are lost at sea. Malibu apologizes to Ken for getting him involved. However, Ken doesn't want to be anywhere else and tells Malibu that, as long as they're together, they'll never be lost. Malibu explains that she didn't mean to send Ken the angry emoji. They still can't remember what happened at the selfie museum, so Malibu suggests they go there again sometime. Ken agrees.

Brooklyn finds an emergency kit with more gas in it. The dragon from Malibu's dream appears in the sky while she is on the boat. Malibu and her friends follow Rocki to an island. Rocki explains that Will, an evil wizard lizard, tricked her into bringing Peggy to the island. Malibu and Ken distract the dragon, who is helping Will, while Brooklyn and Rocki find Peggy. Rocki frees Peggy, and then Peggy gets her wings. Rocki broke a Glyph promise to Will by freeing Peggy, so she loses her powers. Will destroys Ken and Rocki's boats. Skipper and Trey arrive with Arlene, who is actually the Glyph Council Leader. Arlene says she was on patrol when she encountered Skipper, who explained what was going on and led Arlene to the island. Malibu tells Skipper she won't underestimate her again. Arlene tells everyone to get on Trey's boat, and then she returns to Mesmer. Will destroys Trey's boat and puts Brooklyn, Skipper, Ken and Trey under a spell.

Careful What You Wish For[]

Will's spell allows him to see Brooklyn, Skipper, Ken and Trey's dreams while they remain still like statues in real life. They all have nightmares where Malibu doesn't exist. Rocki feels helpless without her powers, but Malibu says there is always something they can do. Malibu is determined to get rid of the spell. Will doesn't understand why Malibu wasn't affected by the dream spell. Rocki says she feels useless. Malibu tells Rocki that everyone has something to contribute. Malibu asks if there is a way they can call the Glyph council for help. Rocki tells Peggy how to do a contact spell, and Peggy uses it to see Will viewing the dreams.

Before leaving to find Will, Malibu puts her hand on Ken's shoulder and tells him he will be okay. Malibu and Rocki go find Will and leave Peggy behind for her safety. Malibu asks Rocki if she will try to steal Peggy's wish again once they get off the island. Rocki says there is no point because the Glyph council will never let her back into Mesmer, and she wouldn't want to go back without wings because the cool Glyphs all have wings. Malibu considers the citizens of Mesmer to be shallow if they wouldn't like Rocki just because she is different. Rocki says Mesmer is great, but she is "really different" from everyone else. Malibu tells Rocki not to worry about fitting in and find a way to embrace the good in herself.

Malibu and Rocki find Will and Will captures Rocki. Will asks Malibu if she ever wonders why she can see things other people can't. Will says very few humans can see the magic that exists in their world, and it was no accident that Malibu found Peggy. Will tells Malibu that she is the key that unlocks the door between the magical world and her world. He captures Malibu. Meanwhile, Peggy uses a counter-spell to wake everyone up from the dream spell, and then she finds Malibu. Malibu tries to warn Peggy that it is a trap. Will touches Peggy's wings and wishes to get off the island. Will gets wings and gets on his dragon. The dragon picks up Malibu and flies away with her. Peggy is too weak to go after Malibu.
