I watched episode One and two of It Takes Two! I really enjoyed it but I have some thoughts and worries about it. Spoilers below
Spoilers warning
Also this is deep and serious for a kids show, sorry lol but I like over analyzing
I think Babrie and Brooklyn are enjoying themselves, they have a really fun dynamic, and I think that Barbie loves Brooklyn just as much as she loves Ken, but I'm worried about Barbie. I think she'll regret her choices of living in New York. We already got to see her missing her first day routine, and she misses her sisters. She acted completely obsessed with Brooklyn in the first episode, and I don't think she's in the greatest mental state; she's probably still riding the euphoria of making a new friend and the spotlight solo. It's not good to make life choices like that.
I am also concerned for her friends and family back home. Skipper is going to take over the big sister role, and this is probably going to stress her out. Also she hasn't talked to Daisy, Teresa, Renee, or Nikki yet! I assume they know, but it still would suck not having heard it personally from herself. I know the show is centered around friendship because it's for kids, but I don't want Barbie's friends to be 'just fine realistically they'd be hurt, and have the right not to instantly forgive them. I want them to be upset because I know how it feels to be abandoned by a friend when they meet someone new. I wonder if Daisy would be jealous of Brooklyn. Daisy can dance ballet, play guitar, and compose music. Brooklyn is just like Daisy but more talented. That would kinda hurt if I Daisy, watching Barbie be obsessed over someone just like you, but better.
And I also feel sorry for Trey. Barbie is his only REAL friend. In the last Dreamhouse Adventures Episodes, Chicken Masked Mystery On Ice, we saw a ton of character development from him because he was able to open up to Barbie. The last time we saw him he was doing even better, it was the Christmas vlog where he helped donate toys to sick kids. He was so soft and sweet in that episode, I love him so much, but I feel like without Barbie's friendship he might revert back to a brat. Barbie is his only emotional support system since his parents are awful.
And lastly, WHAT ABOUT TAFFY?! I mean obviously Taffy will still be fed and played with by the family, but Barbie is his person, his favorite, like his mom. He'll be kinda sad and probably feel neglected.
So overall I am happy for Barbie, but also worried about her choices. I think they're going to effect her life back home, and things won't be perfect when she goes back.
