Barbie in A Mermaid Tale 2

hello guys, how long i've been thinking... the crest of courage and merliah's tattoo have very similar aesthetics, the crest of courage (which has no wiki page, i think it should have) has a real meaning, but merliah's tattoos have no meaning they just appeared in the 2nd movie. but my doubt is the aesthetics of these two brands have any meaning in real life? Does this symbol exist in any culture?

I've just noticed that the swimwear Kylie was wearing in America was different than the one she's worn in Australia. The first one looked more Hawaiian, but the second one--I'm trying to figure the pattern. What style of culture has that?
