It seems like there's a bit more merchandise based on what shown in this fan website, which makes me quite interested in the movie.

So a Little Golden Books version of Barbie Mermaid Power is said to come out on September 6. It mentions Malibu and Brooklyn turning into mermaids to save a kingdom. My guess is that, just like Princess Adventure and Big City Big Dreams, this movie will come out September 1. Little Golden Books adaptations of movies and episodes usually make things simplified, and thus usually cut out stuff from said movie/show. Still, I assume getting this Golden Book means that the general plot is the same. At this point, we can probably keep posting updates here until an official trailer or something comes out.
